CRITICAL MASS BIKE RIDES
Sun 4th of June and Fri 4th of August @ the Hoe
We look back on 2 amazing Critical Mass bike rides!
Critical Mass is a recurrent event where cyclists of all ages and abilities come together to celebrate biking and promote alternative forms of transportation. It's not just a bike ride, it's a whole vibe!
We meet at the Hoe and then take to the streets en masse, creating a joyful and peaceful presence that raises awareness of the need for bike-friendly infrastructure and safer roads.
In two rides 120 cyclists of all levels and ages joined us for a fun and inclusive ride. Showing our city that bikes belong and that we're committed to making our streets safe, vibrant, and liveable for everyone. Check the photo's here.
From now on we will ride every 1st Sunday of the month. The next one will be on the 3rd of September. Will we see you there?
FIND OUT MOREMOVEMENT ECOLOGY TRAINING
10 & 11 June 2023 @ St Saviours Hall
In two dynamic days, 10 participants dived into a transformative training. The focus was on equipping organizers and change makers with tools to cultivate insight and solidarity across diverse organizations and movements.
Guided by expert facilitators, participants discovered their role within their environments and honed the skill of mapping their landscapes. Through collaborative discussions and practical activities, they shattered barriers, growing a renewed sense of purpose and strategy 🌱🌏
CLIMATE GRIEF CIRCLE
27th May @ Yoga Loft
- A sharing circle held by three Grief Tending facilitators
- It was a space for our community to express our feelings for the world: fear, grief, anger, despair – courage, love, passion, hope
THE RELAUNCH
16 March @ Plymouth Athenaeum
- 70 people attended to hear about our new vision and mission
- We held a People’s Assembly on how to create a 15 minute city.
THE YEAR 2022
7 June – 7 November @ New George Street
We had access to a three floor, 1000m2 building in the city centre. In those 6 months:
- 4000 people visited
- The space held 142 public events. Workshops, music gigs, theatre, writing sessions, climate cafes, bike repairs, etc.
- 11 different environmental/social groups held 53 meetings
- We built up a network of 30+ changemaker groups in Plymouth
- 12 volunteers became keyholders ensuring the flow of events and maintenance of the building
